At 2am when pain strikes and no doctor is available — Datun AI is there. Instant dental guidance, clinical assessment, photo analysis. Hindi or English.
Online · Free
Type or speak in any language — Hindi, English, Hinglish. No forms. Datun AI listens like a doctor friend at 2am.
Datun AI asks precise clinical questions — triggers, duration, radiation — before drawing any conclusion. Exactly like a dentist would.
Upload a dental photo from your phone — AI detects cavities, gum disease, calculus, fractures. Real findings, described clearly.
Likely diagnosis, urgency level, home care guidance — tailored to your age, allergies, and medical history. Connect to a dentist in one tap.
Advanced clinical AI — not a chatbot. It asks what a dentist asks, sees what a dentist sees.
Pain triggers, duration, radiation, sensitivity — asked one at a time, building a complete picture before any assessment.
Upload from your phone. AI identifies cavities, gum inflammation, calculus, fractures, and abscesses with clinical precision.
Fever + swelling or difficulty swallowing — AI flags life-threatening conditions instantly and directs you to emergency care.
Diagnosis, urgency, home care do's & don'ts — tailored to your age, allergies, conditions, and complete medical history.
Allergy check, pregnancy screening, age validation — before any medication suggestion. Unsafe → categorically refused.
Speak Hindi, type Hinglish, or text in English. AI understands context across languages and responds in kind.
600 million Indians have no access to a doctor when they need one. Not at 2am. Not in their village. Not in their language. We are closing that gap — one conversation at a time.
"It asked about my allergies and medications before suggesting anything. This level of clinical care from an AI — I wasn't expecting it. Responsible and accurate."
"Mere gaon mein dentist nahi. Datun AI ne photo dekh ke bata diya aur urgent kaha. Pehli baar laga ki koi doctor mere paas khada hai."
"My daughter had severe pain at midnight. Datun AI guided us step by step — the right questions, the right home care. We finally slept. That's healthcare."
"I've sat across from patients who delayed treatment for months — not because they didn't care, but because they had no one to ask. Just pain, fear, and silence."
That silence is what Datun AI was built to end. I've seen it in clinics, in health camps, in the faces of people who needed someone to say: "Here's what's happening. Here's what to do."
Healthcare is not a luxury. It never was. We built Datun AI so that anyone — anywhere in India — can access a doctor-grade dental assessment, in their own language, at any hour of the day or night.
That's not a product. That's a promise.
India's dental health crisis is massive. Datun AI is built to tackle it — starting with access.

Raat ko dant mein dard kyon badhta hai? Agar aapne kabhi anubhav kiya hai ki din mein dard theek tha lekin raat ko 2 baje achanak bahut tej ho gaya — to aap akele nahi hain. Yeh ek bahut common complaint hai jo hum Datun AI par roz sunte hain.
When you lie down, blood pressure in your head increases slightly. This increased blood flow puts more pressure on an already inflamed tooth nerve — amplifying pain signals significantly. During the day, you're distracted by activities. At night, silence makes every throb feel louder.
Additionally, your body's cortisol levels (a natural anti-inflammatory hormone) drop at night, reducing your natural pain suppression. The result: the same level of dental inflammation feels dramatically worse at 11pm than it did at 11am.
Pain that lingers after a cold/hot trigger — This is a key clinical sign. If cold water causes pain that stays for more than 30 seconds after you spit it out, your tooth pulp (the nerve inside) is likely inflamed. This is called irreversible pulpitis — it won't heal on its own.
Spontaneous throbbing pain at night — If pain wakes you up without any trigger, this is a sign the pulp is dying or has died. The pressure of gas buildup inside the tooth is causing the throbbing. You need dental treatment, not just painkillers.
Pain that goes away immediately after cold — Reversible pulpitis. The nerve is inflamed but can potentially heal with proper care. Still needs attention, but less urgent.
1. Keep your head elevated — Don't lie flat. Prop yourself up with two pillows. This reduces blood pressure at the tooth and can meaningfully reduce pain intensity.
2. Cold compress on the outside — Ice pack wrapped in cloth against your cheek for 15 minutes. Never put ice directly on the tooth.
3. Avoid hot food and drinks — Heat increases inflammation. Stick to room temperature or cool water.
4. Clove oil — If you have it, a small amount of clove oil (eugenol) on a cotton ball placed near the painful area provides temporary numbing. This is one of the oldest dental remedies and it genuinely works short-term.
5. Paracetamol (if no contraindications) — 500mg for adults. Always consult before taking if you have medical conditions or are pregnant.
Go to an emergency room immediately if you experience: facial swelling spreading toward your eye or neck, difficulty swallowing or breathing, fever above 101°F with dental pain, or inability to open your mouth fully. These are signs of a spreading dental infection which can be life-threatening.
Nighttime tooth pain is your body telling you something is wrong that won't fix itself. Use Datun AI to get a proper clinical assessment — describe your symptoms, upload a photo, and get a personalised recommendation on next steps. Don't wait for the pain to become unbearable.

Most people ignore their gums until something hurts badly enough to notice. But gum disease — periodontal disease — is sneaky. It progresses silently for months or years, causing irreversible bone loss around your teeth before you feel significant pain. Here are the 5 warning signs you must not ignore.
This is the most common sign people dismiss. "Oh, I just brushed too hard." No. Healthy gums do not bleed when you brush — even with moderate pressure. Bleeding gums are inflamed gums. This is gingivitis — the earliest, reversible stage of gum disease. If caught here, it can be completely reversed with proper brushing, flossing, and a professional cleaning.
If you ignore bleeding gums, gingivitis progresses to periodontitis — where infection spreads below the gum line and begins destroying the bone that holds your teeth.
Healthy gums are firm, pale pink, and fit tightly around teeth. Inflamed gums are red, puffy, and may appear shiny. If your gums look like they're "filled with water" or are visibly darker red than normal, bacteria have established an infection in the gum tissue.
If you look in the mirror and your teeth seem longer than they used to be, your gums are receding. This happens when gum tissue pulls away from the tooth, exposing the root. Exposed roots are not protected by enamel — they are extremely sensitive to cold, heat, and sweet foods, and are more vulnerable to decay.
Gum recession is often permanent. The tissue doesn't grow back on its own. Caught early, progression can be stopped.
Not the kind that goes away after brushing. Chronic bad breath that returns within an hour of brushing is often caused by bacteria living in infected gum pockets. These bacteria produce volatile sulfur compounds — the same gases found in rotten eggs. No amount of mouthwash solves this if the underlying infection isn't treated.
This is advanced periodontitis. If teeth that were stable are now slightly mobile, or if your bite feels different when you close your mouth, the bone supporting your teeth has already been significantly destroyed. This requires urgent professional intervention. Teeth can be — and often are — lost at this stage without treatment.
Brush twice daily for 2 minutes with a soft brush. Floss once daily — this is non-negotiable. Flossing removes bacteria from areas your brush physically cannot reach. See a dentist for scaling (professional cleaning) at least once a year. Use Datun AI to assess your gum symptoms and get personalised guidance.

India has approximately 300,000 registered dentists for a population of 1.4 billion. In urban centres like Delhi and Mumbai, the ratio is manageable. In rural India — where 65% of the population lives — the ratio collapses to roughly 1 dentist for every 10,000 people. Many villages have no dentist within 50 kilometres.
This is not a new problem. It has existed for decades. What is new is that we now have the technology to meaningfully address it.
According to the National Oral Health Survey, 95% of India's population has some form of dental disease. Yet 78% of Indians have never visited a dentist. The barriers are consistent: cost, distance, and lack of awareness about what symptoms require professional attention.
The consequences are severe. Untreated dental infections spread. A tooth abscess can become a life-threatening neck infection (Ludwig's angina) within days. Oral cancer — heavily prevalent in India due to tobacco use — is routinely diagnosed at late stages because early lesions go unexamined.
AI cannot replace a dentist. It cannot drill a tooth, remove calculus, or suture tissue. What AI can do — reliably and at scale — is triage. It can determine: Is this an emergency? Does this person need to see a dentist today, this week, or can they manage at home for now? What are the warning signs they should watch for?
This triage function is enormously valuable in a resource-constrained healthcare system. When a patient in rural Maharashtra at 2am doesn't know if their swollen face requires an emergency room visit or if it can wait until morning — that decision matters. Getting it wrong in either direction has consequences.
Datun AI was built by a practising dental surgeon specifically for the Indian context. The clinical questioning protocol mirrors how a dentist conducts a history — pain character, triggers, duration, radiation, associated symptoms. The medication guidance has strict safety protocols: no suggestions without allergy screening, pregnancy check, and age verification.
Photo analysis allows visual triage — detecting visible caries, gum inflammation, calculus, and soft tissue lesions from a smartphone photo. This is not a replacement for a clinical examination, but it provides clinically meaningful information when no examination is possible.
AI dental triage is one piece of a larger solution. Training more dental professionals, improving rural infrastructure, subsidising dental care — these are essential long-term interventions. But they take decades. AI triage can help today, for the patient who has no other option.
The goal is not to make dentists redundant. The goal is to ensure that when someone in a village has a dental emergency at midnight, they get accurate guidance — and that when they do reach a dentist, it is not too late.
So Datun AI skips the basics and goes straight to your dental concern.
